BLANKET SCARVES // DIY COZY HOME DECOR

After the holidays, when all the the glittering and festive decor has been packed away for another year's wait, our home feels a bit - well, bare.

Since it's still bitterly cold outside, I wanted to find ways to keep the inside of our house feeling cozy - and even more importantly, without spending a ton of money on new decor. I found the answer to my design question in a pretty uncommon place - my closet!

I've rounded up a few tricks to keep your home decor feeling cozy throughout the winter using something you probably already own - a blanket scarf!

1.  AS A TABLE RUNNER // TABLECLOTH - This is my favorite trick because it's just so simple but offers a lot of POP. And! All the items I featured in my table centerpiece were found in the dollar section at Target, including the blanket scarf! Cute and for a bargain.

2. AS A PILLOW COVER - Who else has a pillow obsession? [Please someone confess that they do so I don't feel alone here with all my extra pillows.] One of my favorite ways to trick myself into thinking that I have new, seasonally appropriate pillows is by creating a quick cover using spare fabric or in this case, a blanket scarf! To achieve this look, I grabbed a spare pillow and simply wrapped it - similar to a present - with the scarf. I tucked my loose ends into the folds of the scarf, but you could also tie them off to create a cute design.

3.  ACCENT ON A COUCH // BED - If you're planning on hosting some friends // family and need a quick touch of cozy, try draping a blanket scarf over your couch or across the end of a guest bed. I love the way the navy + green pattern in the scarf pops against the neutral gray of our couch.

Let me know if you try any of these tricks or find other fun ways to use your blanket scarf around your home!

Stay cozy friends!
