Tips to Stay Balanced
Ever feel overwhelmed, stressed, or just plain tired during the week? [I do! I do!]
Here are 3 tips to stay mentally balanced on a daily basis:
- Enjoy a quiet moment - Set aside a few moments in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee. Catch up on the news or just sit with a puppy in your lap...and breathe. Mornings are my favorite time to plan for the day, and taking a few moments early on to relax helps the rest of the day feel less rushed and chaotic. If you're not a morning person, find some time before bed to read the next chapter in a book or enjoy a calming cup of tea.
- Take a walk - Whether you’re at work or at home, taking a walk [or just stepping away] helps give your mind a break and a chance for your body to stretch. Regular movement during the day is good for your body and helps clear up the mind too.
- Dis-Connect - Make it a goal to put down your phone and simply dis-connect from the screen each day. Enjoy dinner with a loved one, play a few rounds of fetch with that ever hyper puppy, or listen to your favorite song. A break from the digital world can help you remain rooted in the physical world.
